I would like to welcome you to kindergarten! This is an exciting time for your child. The first day will mark one of the most important milestones in your child’s life. I am so excited to have this opportunity to teach your child. I want each child to love learning. It is my privilege to welcome you, your child and your family into my classroom. I invite you to join me in making this a wonderful year!

I will do my best to make this school year an enjoyable time for your child, but also a time filled with learning. I am committed to making this year one of excitement, growth and opportunity. Please know that we are partners in education. I value your input and constant support.

I want to take this opportunity to share with you a bit of about my background and philosophy as a kindergarten teacher. I have been teaching for 16 years in Chicago Public Schools. I also taught for 5 years in the Lutheran school system. Teaching is part of who I am and I am committed to ensuring your child’s educational success. Here are a few of my beliefs about educating children:

• I believe that every child is talented, capable of learning and have strengths that should be celebrated.

• I believe that children need encouragement, clear expectations and healthy boundaries.

• I believe that children need a safe learning environment.

• I believe that all children can become life long learners.

• I believe learning should be fun and hands on.

The adventure is about to begin and endless possibilities await us. I can’t wait to watch your child soar! To ensure a prosperous school year, we have included a supply list.
